After the fun filled day my Baby A and I had at the Start Rite shoes party show press day, Charles Clinkard were kind enough to share with me their exclusive interview with Myleene Klass. The star talks about her new range for start rite shoes and how the collaboration came about, being from the same hometown as the brand, Norfolk. Myleene is proud to be a start rite child herself, knowing the importance of wearing great fitting footwear from an early age. Myleene is extremely proud of her gorgeous and very wearable collection for the brand, aspiring for it to be luxurious, classic and durable. She took inspiration from music to name the styles of the shoes and is so passionate about the look and fit of the styles.
In the interview, Myleene talks about how she takes opinions from her own children, considering which ages are better with Velcro straps and buckles which can make all the difference when making a footwear purchase. Even though she was designing a range for young children she still looked at current trends for inspiration. She loves the monochrome trend that is so right now and classic and loves the element of mixing textures, hence the leopard print cut-outs and lining for some of the styles in the range.
Working with the start rite design team has been a great experience for Myleene, she says it’s nice to work with people who have expert knowledge and are so open to taken on ideas from someone with a fashionable edge. Being a mum herself she does her best to design for mum’s as well as children and with the latest collection there are a few favourites that she wants for herself. As well as desperately still trying to have the last say in her daughters’ wardrobe choices she hopes to expand the start rite collection and take part in some bigger projects. She is super excited that start rite has taught her how to become an expert shoe fitter and loves branching out into new areas of fashion ♥
