Beauty Style ♥ Net-A-Porter launches Beauty range

Beauty Style, Net-A-Porter launches Beauty range

The global fashion etailer, Net-A-Porter, set up by former fashion editor Natalie Massenet will now be branching into the world of beauty. Net-A-Porter have had a remarkable year, sales have soared from £238 million to £368 million in the past year and is now known as the best London-based etailer for luxury fashion. The company has also been recently joined by Lucy Yeomans, former editor of Harper’s Bazaar to set up Net-A-Porter’s online magazine, which launched recently.

Beauty is a huge industry and many luxury brands have already branched out into this huge market such as Dior, Chanel and Burberry; with their own perfumes lines and cosmetic ranges. Infact some of these brands are better known for beauty than clothing. There are currently no plans to have a stand-alone beauty store such as their US competitors, Sephora. Net-A-Porter claim that their beauty offering is very different to anyone else, including brands such as James Read, Phllip B, Sarah Chapman, Beauty Works West, Aesop and Chantecaile. Just like their very well thought out and fashionable offering for clothing the beauty range will follow the same thought out manner. Selling beauty items such as make -up including nail varnish, fragrance, hair and skin products to kick start the launch. New labels and lines will be added weekly just like the fashion clothing side of the business.

The company’s managing director Alison Loehnis says; ‘The proposition is really where the beauty-meets-fashion aspect, and we see it as so symbiotic with the rest of our offerings. As we’ve developed our content, beauty is such a big part of fashion’. Net-A-Porter had have had plans to add a new category to their site for some time, it was a throw up between menswear, kidswear and beauty; beauty topped the other categories by far. Known as the ‘quintessential edit‘ and described as the natural evolution of the Net-A-Porter business.

Every purchase from Net-A-Porter beauty will be presented in the trademark black Net-A-Porter boxes tied with a luxurious ribbon, the same service which is known for the main site.

The Net-A-Porter beauty site will launch on the 20th of March and will be available to customers in over 75 countries ♥
