Not only was Paris Couture Week a showcase of the most expensive dresses for Spring/Summer but also a display of hair and beauty trends and a gathering of A-listers at the front row.
Some of the more artistic make up looks may not be your everyday regime but you can’t help but to take a closer look, just like wanting to test all the shades on the back of your hand at make up counters. Dior, Armani and Chanel are well known for their desired cosmetic ranges, you may not wear the Chanel Rouge everyday but you want to own it. It’s amazing how make up; a touch of blush and quick mascara can give you inner confidence and looking effortlessly glam.
Let’s a take a closer look at the trends for hair and beauty at Couture Week ♥

Porcelain and flawless skin, highlighting high cheekbones and a definitive jawline with rouge lips was the trend for Armani. Perphaps the triangular cornered eyeliner and the greasy stuck the the forehead fringe isn’t great for your everyday attire but it still looked great on the catwalk, adding an art deco feel to beauty and from a far 50s glamour.

Smokey eyes are always hot! When they are teamed with lace print eyelashes they give a more gothic and new level to the smokey eye. In the garments there was a lot of lace and texture on the catwalk and this has come through beauty, with textured hair and layering up the smokey eye.

With bright bejewelled lips a la Dior, very little else is needed to make an impact. A short dark crop and hair off the face, absolute minimal make up not to take the attention from those Swarovski encrusted lips!

There are so many looks that can be created with Cara Delvigne, but for Valentino it is the bright eyed and natural look which she does so well. Leaving the attention to the details (coming up!) and the Valentino attire. Hair twists were a common trend running through a few shows which is here for Valentino but also seen on the Ellie Saab catwalk.
The hair and beauty teams for the Jean Paul Gautier Show were extremely busy indeed! Painting feet silver, individually sticking on jewels on model’s foreheads for that eastern touch, not to mention the backcombing and plaiting of hair. It was an exotic look for the models with heavy eye make up and thick winged eyeliner.
Looking at the details for Chanel, firstly how much do you love the lace and leather boots matching the texture in this show. Details on the off the shoulders with jewelled straps and colour blocking the shoulders for that ‘framed shoulders’ look. Let’s not forget the added texture with feather in the hair to compliment the feather and lace like lashes. For Giambattista Valli it was all about the floral display, matching your hem to your shoes, a collared statement necklace made up of flowers and the use of sheer fabrics and blooms under the surface.
Those silver feet for Jean Paul Gautier and accessories with an indian touch; the delicate yet chunky anklet and the perfect bag for Eastern travels. Valentino also loved the floral bloom trend with applique detailing adding texture and piping to compliment the hair twists. A favourite detail is the wedding cake icing detailing on these shoes ♥

These fine dressed ladies are not shy of the red carpet, they were at the front row of Chanel, Ellie Saab and Dior for their pick of the Spring/Summer couture collections. Opting for the classic black look, well all except Rita Ora who just likes to be different!
