A couple of weeks back you may have noticed on instagram that I went to a cupcake decorating class at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel. As I like to follow the latest trend I went to join this huge cupcake trend, every time I bake cakes I have never taken that step further into the art of decorating cupcakes as I didn’t know how. I’ll admit, I am not the next Luisa from The Appentice but I do now feel a lot more confident in making sugar flowers and icing a cupcake with ease ♥

The evening started sipping lovely fruit cocktails and some extremely tasty canapes whilst chatting to some very talented lifestyle and food bloggers. The hotel was nothing but class and elegance, with the huge lobby area and gorgeous floral arrangements throughout (one of my favourite things about hotels!)
We were then taken on a tour of the hotel, showing us the rooms, suites, the all important and very chic club house and the grand banqueting and conference rooms.
Then the business of cupcake decorating started, the lady teaching us these skills was called Nicky, from Cupcakey. Assuring us all that it’s really not as hard as it looks and within minutes she had us all creating flowers from sugar paste (edible of course). Nicky had very kindly already baked cupcakes for us all to decorate. I was really pleased with the new techniques I had learnt, especially how to very swifty handle the piping device for buttercream.
I was so pleased with my fun but hard work I almost didn’t let anyone eat my decorated cupcakes when I got home! The goody bags we received contained a full kit for cakepops, so keep in touch on instagram to see how I get on ♥
