My Driving Story ♥

My Driving Story ♥

I know this is not really beauty related at all but sometimes I get approached by brands or stories that I am really passionate about and need an outlet for them. Today, I want to talk about driving. Many of my friends and family who have known me for years will know that I spend a lot of time driving! It is my thinking time, singing time, catching up with friends time (via bluetooth of course) all whilst getting to places. Places such as work, school and basically anywhere I need to go!

So today, I wanted to share my driving story with you and the young people in your lives. I had my first driving lesson on my 17th birthday, I was raring to go! I was not nervous at all, in fact it was not the first time I had been behind the wheel. My dad always used to encourage me to ‘take over the gears’ when he was driving, to direct him and generally make me feel fully confident about driving. He often used to take me to an empty car park on a late Sunday afternoon and have a slow drive around. So it was no surprise that my driving instructor was very pleased with my confidence behind the wheel. I think I was very lucky with my instructor, he was very flexible and so helpful actually! My driving lessons used to work around my college times so I would either drop myself to college or drive myself back. He said it was important that I was comfortable with my everyday route from the start. Sometimes he would even take me on errand runs for my mum (more regular routes!)

I passed my driving test in four months and I think that was about 20 lessons. Even though I was a very confident driver and my instructor had full confidence in me, on the day of my test I remember feeling so nervous! I knew this was the game changer, the start to my freedom! I was over the moon when I passed, I wanted to hug my examiner (don’t worry I didn’t!) I was straight out, driving to see my friends, asking my mum if she needed me to drive her anywhere, I just wanted to be in the car driving around.

Even though I hate traffic and there seems to be so much of it these days, I still love driving! It is how I get to places! What do you love about driving?
