Recently I went to the Boots Summer Press Event, now it’s no surprise that I love Boots! What’s not to love? Beauty, cosmetics, baby products, fashion, home and health so at this event there was so many new products for summer. You may have seen some of my pictures on Facebook and seen my Boots make-up looks but now here some great tips I picked up for a happy, healthy summer for the whole family ♥
Summer means more days out and travelling, with little ones especially it is always a good idea to carry a travel sized first-aid kit, Boots have teamed up with St John’s Ambulance service to make sure you have your essentials. Unfortunately, many of us suffer from hay-fever and allergies in the warmer months when there is pollen everywhere! Don’t let this ruin your Summer (or your make-up!) prepare yourself with the Nasal Barrier spray which is suitable for toddlers over 18 months, if you’re pregnant and breastfeeding which is amazing so you no longer have to suffer in silence! If your eyes do get irritated, the irritated eye mist is amazing and it can go over make-up without smudging it, I mentioned this in my April favourites video. I always carry allergy relief tablets in case of an emergency.
Summer as pretty as it is, does attract a lot of insects, flies and mosquitos which can be a real worry when you are travelling with kids or if you are pregnant. I think these portable mosquito killers are great, you can just place them on your table when you go out for dinner on holiday, clip one on your buggy, keep it in your room or by the window in your baby room to keeps nasty bugs away. It’s not a nice subject but summer bacteria and travelling can lead to upset stomachs, carry these diarrhoea relief tablets to sort out the bacteria in your tummy.
Suncare is obviously very important, not just for children or if you have sensitive skin but for everyone. It is also important to think about your lips and eyes which do have make-up on most of the time but to protect the areas I use the Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen as a base or primer. It looks great by itself and sits so well under make-up, with a SPF 30 so it’s a winner!
When in the sun, you need to protect your own skin as well as your child’s, Boots have a great new range of sun protection sprays that are easy to apply, non-sticky, water-resistant and sand resistant so you can enjoy the sun as a family whilst staying protected. I have quite sensitive skin in the sun and I am prone to heat rash which is very uncomfortable, therefore I love cooling after-sun products. I particularly love the all new In Shower After Sun with cooling cucumber and the gorgeous body butter.
