Holiday Beauty Essentials ♥

So, it’s been a while since I did a full post but the blog was going though a bit of a makeover and I hope you’ll agree, it was worth the wait! While the blog was getting pampered I went to sunny Sharm El Sheik for a week and had a fabulous time on Baby A’s first beach holiday! I will be doing  post on must-have items when going on holiday with a toddler but right now it’s all about beauty ♥

As you can imagine, being a beauty blogger I took A LOT of beauty products with me on holiday (YouTube video coming up!) I have obviously been reminiscing the holiday and managed to narrow it down to my top 5, ok 6 holiday beauty essentials ♥

So first of all my skincare routine, after cleansing, toning and moisturising as normal with my Clinique anti blemish range ritual I then used to use the Clinique Even Better dark spot defense SPF 45. This was to prep and protect my skin from the holiday sun, I do have very sensitive skin in the sun and need all the protection I can get! This was so great and I love the formula as it’s not at all greasy. When you’re on the beach or in and out of the pool wearing big shades, minimal make-up is required so I always go for the barely there look. Whether I am wearing full on foundation or a tinted moisturiser, I always use my Benefit Porefessional as a primer. I love the smooth finish it gives my skin, creating the perfect canvas for anything I apply on top. It is also a great way to combat extra shine you are bound to get after spending the whole day in the sun. As the final touch for my skin, I absolutely loved the Urban Decay, Naked Skin Beauty Balm. It’s a BB cream with extra SPF, anti-ageing benefits and perfectly tinted for a light but even coverage so you don’t feel completely naked but have a healthy glow.

So once you have a great holiday skin base, you’re ready for a bit of shimmer and a pop of colour! As you know, I love shimmer and highlight especially in the sun! I used my MAC Mineralise Highlighter in Soft & Gentle day and night. With barely there make up a pop of colour always makes a huge difference and I loved two products for a bit of poolside colour pop. Firstly, the new Illamasqua lipstick in luster that  I recently reviewed. I did say it would come on holiday and it did! I love the instant summery feel it bring to my lips and because it is long-lasting it is great for jumping in and out of the pool. For those days that you want nude lips and a pop of colour on your eyes, the Seventeen Eye eye crayon in Jewel is just amazing. I use it just under my waterline as a subtle hint of watercolour and it lasts all day!
