In 2007 when the news that the style icon Kate Moss, was launching a capsule collection in Topshop the excitement was outstanding and of course the collection sold out within hours of launching. I remember the crowds outside the Oxford Street store and being so proud of myself that I opted to buy online…only to find that most pieces were sold out within minutes! The collections grew stronger and all the fashionistas felt like they were wearing a piece of Kate Moss as they wore pieces from the collections.
Well this year Kate Moss is back to design a collection for Topshop and it’s even better than ever! Taking inspiration from some of the sell-out pieces, her own style and a touch of vintage bohemia. The collection is split by four different style stories; Cocktail Hour, Tailoring Noir, Balearic Dressing and Pyjama Dressing, all the styles have the effortlessly cool style sense of Kate Moss herself. She said, ‘I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop. I am very excited to create a new collection that bears my name. Now more than ever, with London being at the forefront of fashion, as it feels like I’m back home working with Topshop.’
I am sure the Topshop team are equally as thrilled! I cannot wait for the collection to launch in-store and online, here is the date for your diaries…the 30th of April. Get ready for feathers, fringing, leather and the most talked about piece from the collection, that £600 fully beaded number. For the first time, the collection will also be available to buy on Net-a-porter.com as well as Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com ♥
