My Top 5 Favourite Mascaras ♥

My Top 5 Favourite Mascaras ♥

My top 5 favourite mascaras was a post I think I did when I first started blogging over three years ago so it is definitely time I did it again as a lot can happen in three years as far as make-up and beauty is concerned. There’s a new launch of a new mascara almost daily and old favourites get replaced with new ones.

My Top 5 Favourite Mascaras ♥

I am blessed with naturally long lashes and so are most of the girls in my family (thank you genes!) so generally I go for volume over length. I do not believe in spending loads of money on expensive mascaras as I already have the length and unless they are amazing mascaras it is not worth it because the life span of a mascara is not very long at all. Bacteria builds up in the wand and they dry out very quickly, regardless of the brand. When it comes to mascara, I cannot tolerate flaking off, clumping and I generally prefer a brush wand. So in no particular order at all, here are my top five favourite mascaras.

My Top 5 Favourite Mascaras ♥

Starting with Soap and Glory’s Thick & Fast mascara which I have recommended to so many people because it is accessible and affordable. For just £10.50 this mascara gives you volume, length and dramatic lashes, the brush is very easy to use because it has a built in v-groove which gives you intense volume. It also has a nice big brush which I prefer and the mascara is a very black black which I love. It is long-lasting and does not flake off or clump your eyelashes together (pet hate!) I love the packaging, it looks luxury and it is not too bulky.

Illamasqua ony has one mascara and that’s because they only need the one. In just one stroke it gives length, volume and drama. I love the bristles on this big brush and I also love the effortless chic packaging which is true to the Illamasqua brand. It is £18 but worth it if you are looking to buy a more premium branded mascara.

Talking of more premium branded mascaras, Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes gives you just that. The brush is very similar to Illamasqua’s Masquara but I feel like this one gives you more volume over length. It is long-lasting and the perfect mascara for Hollywood glamour. This is the most expensive of my favourite mascaras at £22 but it is just fabulous!

I discovered the Smashbox Full Exposure mascara by pure fluke, I got a sample with the Full Exposure palette and was instantly amazed! It is so long lasting! It lasts all day and just one coat makes such a huge difference. Again, it has a big brush which I find so easy to use. This mascara is also great to quickly top up any other mascara without going all clumpy so it is a great day to night mascara.

NEW SEVENTEEN Long Lash Review ♥

My final favourite is very new and I know it is a very big statement to say it is in my top five favourite mascaras but it is! If I had not discovered the all new SEVENTEEN Long Lash mascara it would have been the HD Falsify mascara but this one made because I prefer the wand and it gives that extra bit of volume. You can see my full review here so I won’t go on about it too much again.
