Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Collection Review

I was recently sent a couple of products from the all new Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal collection. The timing was perfect as I was suffering from a couple of random breakouts, which also meant I was a bit scared of trying something new but as this was a formula targeting breakouts I couldn’t really go wrong.

First impressions, the dark grey colour was not exactly tempting to put on my face but as soon as it’s wet and mixed with water it lathers up quite quickly. I use my Clarisonic face brush to work in my cleanser and this is where I noticed how amazing this face wash actually is. After using my face brush for a couple of months the bristles had become a bit ‘make-up coloured’ even though I had been washing the brush. After using the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Face Wash my brush was like brand new and pristine white! This for me showed that something in this face (probably the active charcoal) was removing every bit of dirt from my face. This was then proved when I then used a cotton pad with toner and nothing was left on the cotton pad! I was truly astonished!

Putting this to the test further, I actually used the face wash to clean my make-up brushes which get used A LOT! Some of my brushes I have had for years and honestly, they have not looked as clean and white as this since I first bought them.

So back to my face and actual skin, over the last few weeks my skin has not dried out at all like I expected it would (I assumed the charcoal would strip natural oils from my skin but I was wrong) my skin feels fresher, cleaner and well-balanced. I have had the odd blemish and they disappeared really quickly. At just £4.25 this is a great face wash, make-up brush cleaner and blemish control.

I have also been using the face mask once a week and feel like it gives my skin a good polish and deep cleanse, again for £3.59 you can’t go wrong with a great detox.

I don’t know if it’s this range alone or the combination of my La Potion Infinie every morning, Clarisonic Face Brush and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate every night but I am having good skin days at the moment…fingers crossed ♥
