After my recent post, How Much Is My Face Worth and discovering that actually it is around the region of £300, I started thinking about what products I use and how many of them are actually worth the splurge.
There are so many thousands of brands who all claim to have the next best thing, but which ones are really worth investing in. Some brands and products get so hyped up via social media and sometimes they are just on everyone’s lust list just because of the hype rather than actually being an amazing product. Some products just make you feel good, I mean I would love to own the entire Chanel counter but could I achieve the same results using Sleek for example?
Here are some of my favourite purchases that I may not necessarily use everyday but in my opinion are definitely products worth the splurge.
- Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation
- NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
- YSL Touche Eclat
- Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Kit
- Orly Bonder Base Coat
- NARS Blush
- Perfume over Eau de Toilette
- Provoc lipliner
- Beauty Blender
- Good brushes
I have tried so many different foundations including drugstore ones and for me personally, drugstore foundations just do not look as good. When it comes to the base I think you are worth spending a little more as you are also investing in good skincare.
There are s many contouring products out there and I love a lot of them but every time I use this one, I remember why I love it so much. It has amazing blendable shades with a mixture of all the right undertones to contour your face. I also love the setting powder in the palette as well.
I did not realise the importance of base coat until I came across the Orly Bonder, it has such great will power at holding on to any polish you apply on top and will not let dark colours stain your nails.
I always remember opting for eau de toilettes over perfumes or colognes because of the price difference. The truth is, perfumes do just last so much longer so it’s definitely worth splurging on your favourite scent so you are not constantly re-spritzing.
There are so many amazing drugstore blushers and so many of which I love but I will never regret buying the NARS Orgasm blush, over and over again. The Provoc lipliners are £10 so they are not the most expensive but it is more that the availability is limited. Once you have managed to track down your nearest stockist you will soon discover that it was worth the hassle! These lipliners are pretty much all I wear on my lips these days!
My beauty blender is my must-have for the make-up kit, it can be used to apply so many products from foundation to blusher. There are so many dupes but I love the original. I am a brush addict and just love brushes so it comes as no surprise that I am going to mention brushes. I don’t think they need to be expensive, but make-sure you use good brushes. Some of my favourite brushes are drugstore brushes (coming up in another posts, products that you do not need to splurge on!) but I think investing in a good set of brushes that do different things is worth it. However, many are happy to use their fingers so it’s whatever suits you.
I have not regretted spending that little bit extra on any of the products I have mentioned, I use them a lot and definitely thought they were worth the splurge.
