When Smashbox first launched the Full Exposure Palette, I loved the look of it but I’ll admit I wasn’t rushing to buy it because I already had the Naked Palette and the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette so I thought I was done with neutral palettes. When I saw the Double Exposure palette I was all over it!
I loved the idea that each shade could be used wet to give a sparkle or deep effect meaning instead of 14 shades there was actually 28! The warm undertoned palette was my BFF and I love the neutral looks you can create for the day and then vamp them up for the evening. The eyeshadows are long-lasting and buttery soft, there was just one thing missing I thought and that was a mid brown for everyday. When I bought the Double Exposure palette I did cast my eye over the Full Exposure palette but thought no I have enough neutral palettes and the Double Exposure Palette offers a navy, some mauve shades and cranberry undertones which are perfect for Autumn. I am currently loving the light coral shades for my everyday look in Spring.
The day came when I just couldn’t stop thinking about the Full Exposure Palette so here it is…
A shimmer or sparkle shade to match every matte shade in the palette! This is no ordinary neutral palette, there is all the neutral browns I need from nude to mid to dark all with a matching sparkle shade from bronze undertones to gold and silver.
I use every single shade in the palette, the sparkle shades are like glitter they apply so well and sparkle like no other! You can see my sparkly smokey eye tutorial for Asiana.tv here. These shades are perfect for daytime and evening events and amazing for creating festival looks for summer.
The mattes are my new go-to everyday shades, they are highly pigmented and wonderful as blending shades, contouring the eyes, adding depth and as base shades.
Put these two palettes together and you will need no other but if you want to make me choose between the two, it would have to be the Full Exposure Palette purely down to the sparkle and that matte mid brown shade that seems easy to find but it’s not.
