#TheChokeables

So it’s time to get a little bit serious, a lot of my posts are about beauty and fashion but I do have the odd parenting and lifestyle posts. Parenting as rewarding as it is can also be very challenging and scary when your baby or child is in danger. As parents we want to be prepared for every situation we our faced with so we can save our children from harm. I know a lot of my readers are parents or are around young babies and children a lot and the thought of any child choking is an unnerving. In this situation we would all want to know what to do. St John’s ambulance service have put together a short video with their new campagin called #TheChokeables which launched earlier this year. Celebrities such as David Walliams, David Mitchell, Johnny Vegas and Sir John Hurt take on the characters of animated objects that could potentially choke babies: a small princess toy, a pen lid, a jelly baby and a peanut. They’ve joined together because they’ve had enough and want to show how easy it is to save a choking baby’s life.

In just 40 seconds we can all learn how to give first aid to a choking baby and make the difference between life and death.

St John Ambulance, believe that everyone should have the skills and confidence to know what to do in an emergency. Knowing basic first aid can be the difference between life and death and every week they hear of new people whose lives have been saved because someone nearby knew what to do. When I was pregnant with Baby A I went on a first aid course for babies and children and I learnt a great deal but more than anything I now have the confidence that I can deal with such situations.

If you found this video useful please share it so others can learn how to save a choking baby’s life in just 40 seconds ♥
