As part of their new pre-spring/summer 2014 collection for Resort Viktor & Rolf will be launching their debut bridal collection. The Amsterdam based designers have created one off bridal pieces before but this is the first time they have a dedicated bridalwear collection.
The six-piece collection offers clean, sharp and fresh styles for the modern bride in a range of lengths and silhouettes which are contemporary but feminine. The colour palette and fabrics are still very traditional using ivory silk crepe de chine, taffetas and tiering.
With contemporary styles including a shirt-dress style with a flowing train and a modern sleek jumpsuit and more traditional full length gowns with bow-back detailing and another with tired irregular pleating, this collection offers a wide offering in just six styles for the more experimental bride.
‘We’ve always loved designing bridal wear because a wedding dress is a garment with a lot of meaning and emotions attached to it,’ the designer duo told Vogue, ‘The wedding dress is the ultimate clothing icon.’ ♥
